Join us…let’s make history together

Your support will help the work that we do.

Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust trains and supports volunteer researchers, carries out educational work with local schools and community groups and aims to produce a multi-volume reference history of Leicestershire for the national Victoria County History series. This means that adults and children across the county gain new skills, learn about the history of Leicestershire and help us build a lasting record that will inspire, inform and delight for generations to come.

Individual donations and support have enabled us to win funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a major 4-year project in the Charnwood Area. Charnwood Roots is exploring the rich history of Charnwood Forest and the towns and villages that surround it, and is providing opportunities for hundreds of volunteers to get involved through landscape surveys, documentary research, fieldwalking, digging test pits, and through our work with schools.

Other volunteers are helping us with documentary research in other parts of the county, which is gradually being published on the national VCH website.

For less than £1 a week you can help us to progress even faster by joining our 200 Club, and you could win one of our quarterly cash prizes. We also have an established Friends group, where you can make annual donations of £20 upwards, or you can make a one-off donation through PayPal, using the button of the right.
