It is situated approximately twelve miles north-west of Leicester and a mile south of the centre of Coalville, to which it is now connected.<\/p>\n<p><b>Daily\u00a0schools for poorer families in 1818 <\/b>(population 614, including Donington)<\/p>\n<p>In 1818, Hugglescote and Donington were grouped together and were within the parish of Ibstock. One had 69 male and 58 females Sunday scholars and had a lending library attached. The other educated 6 boys and 6 girls.<\/p>\n<p><b>Anglican Sunday school in 1846-7<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The parish did not submit a return to this inquiry.<\/p>\n<p><b>In 1851 <\/b>(population 1,014)<\/p>\n<p>On the afternoon of 30 March 1851, 84 scholars attended <a title=\"Protestant nonconformity in Hugglescote, Donington-le-Heath, Ellistown and Battram\" href=\"http:\/\/leicestershirehistory.co.uk\/?page_id=1698\">Hugglescote Baptist Church <\/a>Sunday school. The two school rooms were connected to the chapel.
