The chapel<\/span> was described by a trade directory in 1895 as a \u2018neat building of syenite rock\u2019.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/VCH\/Documents\/WIP\/chapel%20pages%20online\/Croft%20chapel%20final.docx#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A trade directory in 1916 noted its name as Croft Free Chapel, possibly indicating a change of name.<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/VCH\/Documents\/WIP\/chapel%20pages%20online\/Croft%20chapel%20final.docx#_ftn3\">[3]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">The chapel is now disused and has been boarded up since at least 2010.\u00a0 Before that it was used as storage for a local business. It is said to be fire-damaged inside, but there are plans to convert it into a private house.
