Thus, while the 1851 religious census noted that a Methodist chapel was built in 1809,<\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/VCH\/Documents\/WIP\/chapel%20pages%20online\/Saltby%20chapel%20final.docx#_ftn1\"><span style=\"color: #0563c1;\">[1]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> no return was made to the 1829 return of meeting houses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is evidence of expansion from the 1840s.
