Help us with a donation
Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust is a registered charity (no. 1128575) which raises money to provide training workshops and one-to-one support to volunteers who are helping to research and write parish histories for publication by the Victoria County History. Donations also help with the cost of essential travel to record offices, as many of the original documents that need to be consulted to produce accurate parish histories are held outside Leicestershire, for example at the National Archives in Kew, at the Church of England Records Centre in South Bermondsey, at the diocesan records offices in Lincoln and Northampton, at the Bodleian Library in Oxford and in many other repositories around the country.
We are fortunate in having the support of academic historians and heritage professionals who are prepared to donate many hours of their time to assist our volunteers. We also have a waiting list of potential new volunteers, who would like to help us to research full parish histories. Their help would enable our work to progress faster, but the Trust does not at present have the financial resources necessary to provide the support they would require.
If you think this is a worthwhile project and would be willing to help us financially, you can donate to Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust (registered charity no. 1128575) online, by using the button to the right of this text. You can also help us when you shop online, at at no direct cost to you, by logging on to the retailer’s site through EasyFundraising, using the button on this page.
